William G.  Mountz
William G. Mountz ,64, of Temple, passed away, Friday, December 29th, 2017 in the Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William J. Mountz, Jr. and Bernice C. Moyer Mountz of Stony Creek Mills. He was a 1971 Exeter High School graduate and attended Berks VoTech for Automotive Mechanics. Bill was in real estate sales for many years, last as an agent for Berkshire Hathaway. He also worked at Green Hills Golf Club and most recently as a driver for Hyde Villa Auto Parts. Bill was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and was very involved with the Reading Fairgrounds Racing community: working on pit crews, notably the racing team of Kenny Brightbill, he was a car driver, closely followed stock car racing and the Reading Fairgrounds Reunion events. His love of nature and gardening were as big as his heart, enjoying long walks around the Antietam Lake and growing vegetables which he routinely gave away to neighbors, friends and family. He was a member of Lower Alsace Fire Company and the Fraternal Order of Police Social Club, Temple. Bill is survived by his sons, William C. Mountz and Jason L. Mountz both of Selbyville, DE, sisters, Cynthia M. wife of Michael Moletress of Sinking Spring, Pattie C. wife of Steve Moyer of Sinking Spring, Phyllis A. Reiger of Reading, Barbara J. Weatherholtz of Reading, Mary E. Mountz of Stony Creek Mills and Jeanne L. wife of Cory DeLancey of Oley and numerous nephews, a niece and great-nephews and great-niece. Bill was predeceased by an infant sister, Rosemary. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 4th from 6:30 pm -8:00 pm and Friday, January 5th from 9:30 am- 10:30 am with Memorial services beginning at 10:30 am in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Interment in will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Easy Does It, Inc., On the memo include "In Memory of Bill Mountz" and mail to 1300 Hilltop Road, Leesport, PA 19533.
