My heart goes out to the Ontiveros family. As a child, I spent many days at your home. Laurie was a good friend of mine and I was always welcomed with open arms, a smile from your mother and a hug from your dad. I recall enchalada fund raisers at our elementary school - Mac Arther located west of the train tracks. We were the "westies" and proud of it. Your mom always happy and thankful. My mom, Wanda, taught your mom to drive on the "right" side of the road. Of course those born and raised in England drove on the left side. My mom laughed and told me stories of her "driving lessons." A "brand new used" station wagon with wooden side pannels, your mom driving over curbs. The last time I saw and talked to your dad he asked me one question "are you single." I said "yes, I am" and he belted out a loud laugh. Prior to my mom passing on April 11, 2023, she had Dementia. Awful disease. I'd take her riding in the car to familiar places. Many she did not recognize anymore. While driving by Mac Arther elementary school, she would say to me "turn on this street." I would and she'd navigate me to your home. She'd say "I know who lives there. My friend." We have one life and one death. Cherish your father's passing, tell funny stories about him, embrace the love you felt for him and he felt for all of you. His "light" may have dimmed but his love will always be with you. Namaste, love, light andI am thankful to have known your dad. Mitzi D Wyatt
