Obituary for Dr John "Jack" Cuozzo

Dr. John "Jack" W. Cuozzo, recently a resident of Norfolk, VA, and a longtime resident of Montclair, NJ died on March 23, 2017

There will be a visitation on Monday, March 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Caggiano Memorial Home for Funerals, caggianomemorial.com 62 Grove St., Montclair, NJ. A memorial service will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Montclair Community Church, 143 Watchung Ave., Montclair, NJ.

Dr. Cuozzo was born on Sept. 1, 1937 and was raised in Glen Ridge, NJ. He studied at Georgetown University and obtained degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (D.D.S) and Loyola University/Chicago Graduate School of Dentistry. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Enterprise CVAN(65). An orthodontist in the New Jersey area for 41 years, Dr. Cuozzo also served for two years as head of the orthodontic section and for two years as assistant director of the dental department at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair. He was also noted for his original research in the field of human origins from a biblical perspective and published or contributed to multiple books and articles in this field. His work was also featured on nationwide radio programs and he was invited to speak on his research at multiple venues across the country. Dr. Cuozzo also served as a volunteer chaplain for the NJ Nets and other NY/NJ professional, college, and high school sports teams for over 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, and his five children, John Cuozzo and his wife Lilia, Margie Garner and her husband Brian, Frank Cuozzo and his wife Lauren, Daniel Cuozzo and his wife Alison, Joshua Cuozzo and his wife Christine, and his sixteen grandchildren, Sara, William, Abigail, Anna, Noah, Daniel, Theresa Kate, Hannah, Sam, Gracie, Kaelan, Alex, Madeline, Joshua, Caleb and Joey, and his siblings, Gary Cuozzo and Patricia McCue.
