Obituary for James D. "Jim" Zink

James D. “Jim” Zink, 41, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born, October 31, 1969 in Bloomington he was the son of Robert H. and Donna J. (Richardson) Zink. Jim was a 1988 graduate of Bloomington High School North where he was a standout baseball pitcher. He also attended Crossroads and the Indiana School for the Blind. He was the American Disabilities Association Coordinator at Indiana University for 12 years. Jim was a loving son, brother and friend who enjoyed watching The Andy Griffith Show and sports on television. Survivors include his parents Robert H. and Donna J. Zink, one brother, John R. Zink, maternal grandmother, Edith Richardson, paternal grandmother, Mary Ferguson all of Bloomington, a special friend and physical therapist, Rhonda Voorhies, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Henry Richardson and David Ferguson. Services will be 11:00am Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, with Brother Russell Minett officiating. Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Bridge Cemetery.
