Frances Marie Gales,
76, of Eltingville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.


Born June 27, 1946
in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Francis and Helen Lertora and loving sister of the late Philip Lertora. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Nicholas F. Gales, loving Mother of Jennifer, Brian, and Jeannine, Mother in law to Joseph
Fumando and Joshua Reid. Adored Grandmother of Nicholas, Gianna, Alexandra, Julia, Jordyn and Jocelyn. Cherished Aunt of Anthony and Darlene Lertora, and many more treasured nieces and nephews.


Frances had a wicked
sense of humor that was enjoyed by all who knew her. She loved shopping trips to Macy’s, attending Doo Wop concerts, monthly lunches with her friends, long talks on the stoop with neighbors, watching the Golden Girls any chance she got, and trying her luck
at the slots during trips to Mount Airy and Atlantic City. She was also an avid collector of all things that brought her joy.


Frances lived a full
life with love and her greatest accomplishment was her family. She was loved by many and will be missed by all, “thank you for being a friend…..we hate to see you go.”
