Margo Irvine Siler Peterson, age 81 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on November 1, 2018 at her home following an illness.
Margo was born on November 4, 1936 in Des Moines, Ia. the daughter of Rupert and Lorene (Cochran) Irvine. A long-time Joplin area resident, Margo worked as an RN for St. John’s Hospice retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, also serving as an Evangelist.
She married Vernon “Ben” Peterson on August 5, 1983. He preceded Margo in death on August 8, 2017. Survivors include one son, David Siler of Joplin; two daughters, Beth Spangler and husband Paul of Lafayette, Co., Michele Keys and husband Kevin of Texarkana, Ar.; three sisters, Sharon Hamson of Sunnyvale, Ca., Linda McGuire of Lamona, Ia., Allison Parker-Bagley of Blue Springs, Mo.; and six grandchildren. Her son Mark Siler, of Joplin, passed away on November 30, 2018.
The family requests that in lieu of flower donations be made to KU Medical Center.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Community of Christ Church. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation following the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
