Passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2018. Preceded in death by her parents Doreen and Coyle Sherer and brothers Kelly and Casey. Survived by her children Tara Michaels and Tom (Hannah); step-children Shawn and Nicole Cilek and their families; grandson Anthony Boone and unborn granddaughter; and great-grandson Jonathan; siblings Pat (Bill) Harholdt, Peggy Koegel, Maureen (Rod) Koenker, Sheila (Dale) Olson and many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life, Monday, October 29, 2018 at 3 PM at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 East County Road E, White Bear Lake. Visitation one hour before service. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Shannon came into my life with her big, wonderful smile, through embroidery and has left her footprints on my heart and life. My deepest sympathy to Tara, Tom, Anthony, Jonathan and the new baby and her siblings and family. Shannon will be missed by so many people, she has touched so many lives. Personally, she has taught me many life lessons far beyond quilting stuff. My prayers are with you all for strength and peace.

I think Shannon and I invented the term "Hey Girlfriend" I cherish all of our shared memories. You shared my family gatherings with me and my family and I shared some crazy fun times with you and your sisters. We were inseparable up to the day I left for the Air Force. So sorry to hear about Shannon's passing. She and Tom were our next door neighbors in Birchwood Village. She was so friendly and welcoming to us and always had a smile on her face. An excellent quilter too! Her house would be dark late at night and you would drive by and see her quilting room light on. RIP Shannon.
