George Maurice Warren Jr., lovingly known as "Junior" to family and and friends, transitioned home on Friday, October 5, 2018.
Junior was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 26, 1948 to George and Hazel Warren. He attended elementary and junior high school in Brooklyn and graduated from George Wingate High School. After high school, Junior joined the United States Army where he served for a few years. He was honorably discharged, under the condition that he would never re-enlist. he was honorably discharged, under the condition that he would never re-enlist. He also worked at Amtrak for a number of years.
His most important job was being a family man. Junior was an amazing father, grand father, son, brother and uncle. He became the great family man he was by imitating the phenomenal example set by his father. He stepped up and took the role of being a father-figure when others could not or would not. Junior exemplified what it meant to be a man through his reliability, strength. dedication, and commitment. He made his family, including close friends, his foremost concern. Everyone felt they held an important and special position in his heart because they did.
Junior had a unique faculty of speech. He did not mince words; he said what he said! He was genuine and unapologetic. More than likely, whatever came out of his mouth was followed by a hilarious one-liner. Junior had a punchline for everything and could make you laugh in any situation. It was no secret that Junior had an affinity for feature films and the female form. Through his artist talent, he depicted this appreciation for women in his paintings. An aesthetics enthusiast, Junior was known to look good, smell good, feel good and do good. Anyone privileged to have met him, never forgot him or how he made them feel.
Junior transitioned from his earthly life to join his son, Parris; his parents, George and Hazel; his siblings, Bobby Greg, Mickey and Jesse; his niece,Cynthia; and his nephew, Terrence. Junior is survived by his daughter, Kamona and son-in-law, Danel; his grandchildren, Kearah, Kael, Noah, Akil and Idan; his sister, JoAnne; nephews, Kindu, Essence, Kareem, Bobby, Omar, Troy, Anthony, Butch and Ivan; nieces, Chutney, Yolanda, Tarsha, Sharese, Ashanti , Cheyenne and Yesenia; several great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and host of relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Kareem for always looking out; to Ivan for always showing up; and Jet for being his best pal. In the words of Pac, "You are appreciated...."
