The family would like to announce the passing of Maria “Zoza” Borges on Sunday, October 7th, 2018. She is predeceased by her sibling and sister-in-law and best friend Louisa Borges. Godmother to Louis Rafeal Borges (Lynda) (their children Norah and Andrew), Joanna (Russ), Michael, Isobel (Joe), Craig, Brandy and Sarah predeceased. Dear friend of Gwen Visentin. Lovingly remembered by her many relatives and friends in both Portugal and Canada. Maria worked as a nurse and a midwife for over 30 years at the Sudbury General Hospital.
Funeral prayers will be held in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 at 4pm with a reception to follow. Friends may gather after 2pm. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. If desired, donations to the HSN – Obstetrics Unit would be appreciated.
