Abelino J  Salazar
Abelino J. Salazar “Abie” of Albuquerque, NM born May 22, 1961 left this world peacefully on
August 17, 2022 at the age of 61 years old at his home in Las Cruces, NM. Abie had a
rewarding career in construction beginning at the age of 19. He had a big heart and was always
there to help anyone in need, even if the help was a simple hug or a good laugh. He is survived
by his beloved wife of 39 years Lavinia Salazar as well as their four beautiful daughters Kaleena
Montoya and husband Andrew, Vanessa Parra and husband Ruben, Jessica Payne and
husband Robert, and Maralisa Salazar. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren Jonah,
Lauryn, Nick, Luke, Logan, and Oliver. As well as his siblings and adopting father Francisco
Carrillo Sr, Mary “Sister” Salazar, Billy Salazar, Anna Salazar and husband George, Leonard
Salazar and wife Teri, and Bebsi Borrego and husband David. He joins his parents Vidal and
Barbara Salazar as well as his siblings Dolores Armijo, Eloy Salazar, Sally Molina, and Sonny
Salazar in heaven.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23 at Getz Funeral Home at 5 pm
followed by a rosary at 6 pm. The funeral mass will be Wednesday, August 24 at Basilica of San Albino at
11am. Graveside service to follow at San Albino Cemetery. Pallbearers are Leo Aguirre, Randy
Limon, Tim Altamirano, Armando Limon, Dennis Maestas, Francisco Carrillo Jr., Ervey Sanchez. Honorary
pallbearers are Jeremy Ramsey and Ronny Limon.
